Hi,my name is Sarah Kent, and i weigh 7 stone. When you are underweight people seem to think that it is ok to say what they think about you to your face. They can ask some really stupid questions such as 'are you trying to be like a celebrity?' I am healthy and do not have a problem with my weight but what about other underweight women who read these magazines that continuously contradict each other? The media seem to be creating more eating disorders, rather than preventing them.

Skinny is just is not sexy. Sorry, but I like a nice round booty with some built in cushioning for you know what! Bring back the voluptuous woman - Cindy Crawford...where are you???

did this girl ever say she didnt eat? if i head it correctly she said she did, the message i got was that she was blaming the media for creating a lot of eating disorders she did not say she had one.

Darling, you are so much more than what you weigh! You're frustration at the media (magazines etc) is justified, but you will never find a sense of worth or who you are if you are looking in a magazine. God defines you. You are beautiful, precious, adored, made in His image and you have a purpose and a future that is more than anything you could ever dream of! (Jeremiah 29:11) You are SO SO loved by God, I hope and pray that you meet Him.

Good for you girl! The media hysteria over skinny models has got all out of proportion. Yes, it is desperately unhealthy for anyone to try to starve themselves to a media induced ideal but some of us are just naturally thin, just as some of us are naturally big. If the media, as they often try to do, attempt to push one particular body shape as perfect, it hurts everybody, especially those who are naive enough to believe in media ideals. I speak as someone, who just by my natural behaviour, has good blood pressure, good lung capacity, yet remains below 12 stone despite being 6'3" tall. Some of us are naturally big and some of us (like you and me) are naturally skinny. Most people are somewhere in between. The problems only come when people forget about reasonable diet and regular exercise and let themselves go too far either way. If we are supposed to respect fat people for being what they naturally are we must also respect thin people for being what they naturally are. We must however condemn anyone who tries to be something they are not by is trying to live up to some sort of media-inspired ideal.

yes, you skinny bitch, eat some burgers. theres is no such thing as naturally thin, she means she has a faster than normal metabolism, which isnt the same thing. its still down to the number of calories you consume.

Comments like "skinny is just not sexy" added 8 months ago really do not help the debate. I am naturally slim and the only way I could become curvaceous would be by eating very unhealthily. Some guys like curvaceous, others like slim, but we are all made the way we are. How come guys can be any shape and that's ok whereas there only seems to be one ideal shape for women that is considered sexy? Men's magazines are full of images of women that don't really exist in reality - how many slim women naturally have really big boobs, for instance? The average woman can't live up to that ideal.
