I wish you could go on National TV and spread the word. You are so right. End Prohibition Now!

Although I agree that prohibition has failed and that a ban on cannabis seeds will cause more harm than good, that's a long way from drug deaths and of little relevance to cannabis seeds. You neglect to mention the other uses of the seed also know as hemps seed, in particular as a source of food and fuel. You neglect to mention the many other beneficial uses of cannabis sand hemp, beside medicine. You are wrong to suggest that people who do not claim to use cannabis medicinally are somehow using it for a quick "fix", unless you mean fix in the sense of mending, benefiting, feeling better, just as do the medicinal users.Mr Flynn I believe you are wrong about Portugal where drugs are not legal but decriminalised so users in possession are not prosecuted - but there is no legal supply. Incidentally, cannabis seeds are, I was told, illegal in PortugalAlun BuffryLegalise Cannabis Alliancehttp://www.lca-uk.org/

Thanks for the responses. This was an off the cuff comment - not intended to present the full argument. Portugal 'depenalised' with great success. Deaths are down by 50% and there have been huge savings in police, court and jails costs. It's not Utopia but it proves that intelligent courageous policies work over timid, pretend 'tough'prohibition ones that we have suffered since 1971.

...think he needs some advice on terminology. Sorry! . Sounds a bit 80's ....'fix'! .....i always associated that term with heroin, don't think its the best choice of words. Also 'terrible hash' ....that was just funny. Sorry, but thats how the large majority will look at it and it does'nt help...that said though, the Guys an absolute Gem! Seen him speak on a number of other issues and he seems like a genuine guy which to me is more important than all the 'bling' you can muster. Big Up to the Man Paul Flynn MP. Fighting the Good Fight.

Excellent video from Paul Flynn. His views on the prohibition of drugs, particularly cannabis and herion are a light in a sea of darkness. Take Holland for example. They have effectively legalised cannabis and they have 1000x less of a heroin problem than the UK. The sheer hypocricy also of making a drug illegal that has never actually killed anyone due to its low toxicity is complete madness when both alcohol and tobbaco (which kill 100s of millions of people each year) are legal. And the politicians which either drink alcohol or smoke tobbaco then call for the prohbibition of cannabis are nothing but hypocrites and should be made to resign over their double standards.

beautifully put Paul, unfortunately the government refuse to listen to logic and reason, preferring lies and propoganda. I often wonder if government are colluding with gangsters and criminals as it seems that this is who the drug laws are designed to benefit
