Forest (The Freedom Organisation For the Right To Enjoy Smoking Tobacco), along with Boisdale of Belgravia, organised a party to mark the 1st anniversary of the public smoking ban in England. Was the smoking ban justified, or is it an erosion of the civil liberties of the people of this country?

This is just one of many of our human rights to be banned. I was thinking of giving up smoking but since the ban, absolutely refuse to even try (stupid maybe) but that is how I feel. Passive smoking is based on dodgy science and good old 'statitics' and like everything else, the 'do gooders' manipulate these findings so they get their way - Liana Murphy

The alleged danger of SHS is a lie, based on junk-science, used as the excuse to introduce smoking bans. Smokers should not vilified and demonised. NO TO THE NANNY (BULLY)STATE! DEFEND FREEDOM OF CHOICE! OUR CIVIL LIBERTIES ARE BEING SYSTEMATICALLY BEING ERODED BY ZEALOUS, PURITAN CONTROL FREAKS!

i hate smoking (ex-smoker!) but the ban is even more hateful. it's tyranny. we should have the right to take the consequences of our own stupidity, without the state deciding what's good for us. nobody twisted my arm to make me smoke, i decided to do it and then i decided to quit. it's MY business, not some politician's! motorcycles will be next, you'll see.....
