Despite feeling strongly about the situation in Tibet sport shouldn’t be mixed in with politics. Protesting against the Olympic torch going through London will make no difference to the political tensions between China and Tibet.

sport and politics are connected you silly bitch. if it wasnt then every competitor would compete as individuals instead of representing their country, fly the flag with anthem when they win medal.

Despite the myth that our athletes represent "our country" they do not represent me.I do not wish to be associated with a propaganda exercise on behalf of a repugnant regime.

I completely disagree. The behaviour of China towards Tibet and the Tibetan people sickens me. I completely reject the Olympics and as another poster said, I disassociate myself completely. You say that sports and politics don't mix - neither does politics and violence, but it is still happening. I hope the Chinese Olympics are totally disrupted and if any of the World's governments has any guts, they won't be sending their sportspeople to China.

yeah right, what about human rights abuses in Guantanamo Bay by the Americans, should we boycott all major international sporting events held in USA?

I totally agree with the lady.Sports and politics should be separated. Some people abroad don't know what really happened to Tibet and the people there. There were some extreme religionary leaders who wanted to divide Tibet from China. But they failed , and escaped from the country.Let me tell you , Tibet is very peaceful today.Peeple there can lead a happy life.If you don't trust what i say , come to Tibet and see for yourself.
