The Burmese military are responsible for using rape as a weapon of war against women and children. I am a former political prisoner and was tortured by the military, I was beaten by them until I lost consciousness. They tried to kill my family and me. When I arrived home I found my father dead. Now I work for the Burma campaign UK and we need your help!

I think that peaceful nations need first hand testimony like this former Burma POW that reaches the masses, the working class voting population. All too often the media will overlook such important personal testimony for a more sensational news sell. This story is what we need exposure to because it highlights the most important pressing global problems, that if left unchecked, threaten the social and political stability of the planet. Now we are in the midst of making an attempt to provide stability to an extremely unstable region of the world (the middle east) and because of our mass ignorance and apathetic resistance we find ourselves torn for a united support on what (after hearing a testimony like this) we know in our hearts is the right thing to do. Our apathy reminds me of a quote: Evil persists when good men do nothing. Not all of the free world is intoxicated with apathy. Many of us realize that freedom in this world has never come free.

The world should be calling for the Burmese Military to be tried for war crimes because it is the military which is behind all these brutal acts and the only thing to stop them is the fear of retribution in a world court. Bare-headed, bare-footed Buddhist monks have arisen, WOMEN have arisen but where is the Burmese military? Brutalising it's own people of course!!

We must speak up at every opportunity to not allow such a junta to exist. The SE Asian allies should give the Generals one week to pack their bags - then invasion.

Actually there is oil in Burma. Thats why China will do nothing to stop the bloodshed. Boycot the Beijing Olympics. Sign the petition on avaaz.org. Do everything you can to help these people.
